These are great, great tips. I've encountered so many situations where public relations account reps, and even executives, make two major mistakes:
* They don't ask the important questions needed to understand the client's situation for fear that they might come off as ignorant or disengaged, and/or
* They go with the client's suggestions on how to best promote their brand and messages rather than offering up additional, or even alternative, suggestions that just might produce better results.

It seems that some PR folks forget that while we are the expert communicators and media relations professionals, they are (as we state in our media pitches and announcments) the absolute experts in their fields. The beauty of a solid relationship is the ability to collaborate with and educate each other--all team members are reading from the same playbook.
