Mike Ferguson managed the Human Resources department for one of America's fastest-growing companies and has managed recruiting, training and human resources operations for divisions of two Fortune 500 companies. He earned the Certified Staffing Professional (CSP) certification from the American Staffing Association in 2006. Prior to working in human resources, Mike worked as a journalist in the Kansas City area. His media experience includes television, radio and newspaper journalism.
With a Bachelor of Science Degree in Communications from Charter Oak State College, he's now an instructor at a Kansas City area college, teaching business and communications courses.
Mike’s involvement in politics and government is diverse and extensive. He was named to Grandview, Missouri's Citizens Advisory Committee on Transportation in 2005, and served as the committee chair from 2006-2009. Since 2007, the people of Grandview elected Mike to our water district’s Board of Directors, where he represents the city’s south east area (Subdistrict #2) and in early 2008, the Mayor and Board of Aldermen appointed Mike to the Grandview Planning Commission where he represents Ward III.
In 2008, he was selected to receive the Libertarian National Committee’s Thomas Paine Award for excellence in political outreach and communicating the message of liberty and smaller government and in 2009 he was elected to the Board of Aldermen in Grandview, Missouri.
